Introduction
My name is Katy Barnes, born and bred Hampshire native with a wild side for birds of prey. I’ve had the priveledge of working with the Hawk Conservancy Trust for over 10 years as a falconer, providing the public with demonstrations and the tools to make a difference.
I’m driven by conservation, which leads me to visit africa to assist with preserving our precious bio-diversities. The Dullstroom Bird of Prey and Rehabilitation Centre in South Africa hold a particular place in my heart as the first place I visited for conservation.
I’ve also had the very privilege to volunteer with TWO Bird Experiences & Education Ltd and their wonderful team of birds, located at Riverborne Community Farm and Finkley Down Farm. The owners Emily and James are personal friends who have helped me grow into the falconer I am today.
